Your pop can tabs make a big difference!
In 1987, VFW Post #295 and Auxiliary founded the Pop Tab Collection Program for our chapter which is now in use at Ronald McDonald House chapters across the country. We’re proud to have created a program that allows groups of all ages to help support families facing the serious illness of a child.
It’s a small gesture, but collecting pop can tabs can make a big difference – in fact, since its founding, the Pop Tab program has raised more than $800,000 for our chapter! These funds have helped cover program costs at our locations across the Twin Cities and have had a significant impact on the families we serve.
Saving pop tabs is easy and fun! Schools, churches, scout troops, businesses, neighbors and families have all enjoyed collecting pop tabs, knowing that they are making a difference to the families.
Here's how to get started
When your container is full, drop off your pop tabs at our administrative offices during office hours (9am-5pm) any weekday. Or contact a McDonald’s restaurant near you to see if they are a drop-off site.
Also, you may order small, reusable pop tab collection houses by emailing us. Each house holds about 700 tabs and serves as a visible reminder of the Pop Tab Program.
Limit 25, with an online donation of $20 per additional 25 houses requested. This donation helps us cover the cost of printing, storing and shipping the houses.
